The stone is called Astropholite, a unique and, in my opinion, really beautiful stone. It has got tiny flecks of copper that glisten from inside. The picture didn't capture it. But anyway, I was told an interesting story about it from the vendor who is from Russia.
The mountain where this stone is found and mined in Russia is very treacherous to climb. There are very few people who are willing to risk their lives by doing this. (I sure don't blame them!) But a few are still going up the mountainside to find it. Knowing this makes this stone worth so much more, that someone would go to such lengths to find and bring this stone to market.
I made the pendant and the little dangle with metal clay called Art Clay 650 and fine silver bezel wire. Glass seed beads and Swarovski crystals make up the necklace.
I hope you find it interesting too.
Thanks for stopping by.
