Okay, if we get 500 images I will pass out and my computer will probably burn up.  But hey, lets dream!  I love dreaming big.  I am always, always, always looking for opportunities.

Christine is in charge of moving her company's office to a new building.  The move which was originally suppose to take place at the beginning of November is probably going to happen this weekend (Merry Christmas).  So lets not mention 500 images to her until next week.  Miss organized is hanging by a thread this week.  ;-)

Christine did send press releases out early on to all the major publications.  We had to do this because these publications tend to work with deadline dates that are months out.  We are hoping they are going to pick it up.  Once the jurying is complete and we know the artists in the exhibition, we will send out releases again with a focus on electronic media.

Lucky for us, Marthe LeVan is a crafthaus member and therefore easy to get in touch with. This is her profile page:

http://crafthaus.ning.com/profile/MartheLeVan

or type in "Marthe" in the member search section.

Looks like your project is taking off. Great job everyone. :-)

Just joining in the conversation. This exhibition should be fabulous and I'm very excited about the exposure at the Summer conference. I don't know if anyone has suggested this, but certainly Art Jewelry,  Jewelry Artist, Metal Clay Artist, etc., would be logical recipients of pr on this. Plus all the ancillary metal clay websites/blogs/etc, too. I am a serious dunce re: www communications, but I know that getting the word out is exponentially expanding daily.

Has anyone suggested the possibility of a book? You (Christine and Susan) have already got a title (and what a WOW title it is!). You will have images. If you end up with 500+ images, Marthe Le Van at Lark might be interested in doing one of her impressive 500 series books. I don't have her contact info, but calling Lark would get you to her. You could coordinate the exhibition with the publication of the book.

Looking forward to seeing the exhibition,

Linda Kaye-Moses

That's fabulous!  Thank you Christine.  For those of you who don't know how Christine and I work, I am the one with the grand over-the-top ideas. Christine is the organized person who tempers me so we actually get something done!!

I also submitted information about the Crafthaus online exhibition to Fusion.  I heard back from the editor, Bob Keyes, and it sounded like they were going to publish something about it in the 4th quarter issue (I submitted right before they went to press!).  For next quarter, I'll be sure to submit the great news about the Metal Clay World Conference and see if we can get that into Fusion as well!

Christine and I will be updating the submission criteria soon to include everything that Art Clay World will need for the photo exhibition at the Metal Clay World Conference.  For those of you who have already submitted we will contact you for any additional information that may be needed.  Please give Christine and I a day or two to get you the new submission criteria as we both seem to have a lot on our plates the next couple of days.

I have an exciting announcement to make!  Art Clay World has offered to host a photo exhibition of the New Directions:  Powder Metallurgy (Metal Clay) in a Sheet Metal World exhibition at the Metal Clay World Conference next summer in Chicago!  They will provide all the printing if we assist them by supplying the photographs, descriptions and a blurb about the artist.  What a wonderful opportunity to get this exhibition in front of our fabulous metal clay community!!  What a generous offer.  Thank you Art Clay World!
