Okay, I've officially given up on catching up to my 4PAM posts, so I'm going to venture forward, and hope I can make up for the missing posts as I go along. So, without any more self-flagellation, I thought it was about time I posted my COPPRclay firing guide.A…See More

Make Your Own Metal Clay Punches (4PAM_12)

Ever find yourself with in the middle of a metal clay project and couldn't locate a punch or clay cutter in the right size or shape? I've been experimenting with  "granulation" or "pebbling" in metal clay lately, and the one thing that became apparent was the need to come up with some punches/cutters in unique shapes and sizes. As you can see in the piece "Sophia," that along with the circular granulation, there is also a tear drop shape. …See More

"Year of the Dragon" Bezel setting an enamel cab in a magnetic closure locket

Okay, okay, so I didn't catch up in time. That means the next two weeks I'll be posting two processes in an attempt to make up for last month. My recent blog and 4PAM slacking isn't apathy related, I've just been juggling lots of projects. So if you happen to be one of my projects, I'll be right with you... really... soon... I'm thinking soon....I finally had a chance…See More

DYI Tool: Bail Drying Rack for Metal Clay

One of my other "hats" is being the video editor at Metal Clay Artist Magazine but I've been a little lackadaisical with producing videos for our online library, so,  I'm going to try for two birds with one stone. For my last process installment of the month, and a much over due MCAM video, I thought I would introduce another one of my favorite homemade metal clay tools, a bail drying rack.…See More

"This could also work well for non-PMC people for etching. Ink the surface and transfer to metal to be etched. I'm sure with just some slight touch up it will transfer nicely."

Art Jewelry is a great magazine and you were right to jump at the chance, of course! I was teasing you...and also inviting you to think about and propose a project article idea to us at MCAM as well. If you're interested, contact Jeannette or me privately and we can discuss your project ideas whenever you're ready. :)

Next time try sending it to us at MCAM.  I'm sure we can give you a much better turnaround time than that! ;)  Meanwhile, I'll look forward to reading your project in Art Jewelry as soon as it comes out. :)

Thanks so much, Wanaree! One of these days I hope you'll tell me how you created the threaded screw-together attachment on your fabulous pendant necklace with the secret compartment. So gorgeous! :)
