Discover the ancient art of flameworking while creating beads from hot glass. Using Hot Head torches, a portable and inexpensive torch, this workshop focuses on making beads with glass frit and enamels. The use of frit and enamels is a quick and fun way to add color and depth to glass beads. Participants will also learn to make their own frit. In addition to exhibiting her own work for the past fourteen years, Darlene has also been an artist-in-residence in area high schools, assisting them to incorporate hot glass into the yearly art curriculum. New and returning students are welcome, and can expect to create four to ten glass beads.
