“Makin' It In Virginia” a Juried Virginia Artisan exhibition collaborative between the Artisans Center of Virginia and River District Arts in Sperryville, VA opens on Saturday, February 15th with a artist reception from 2-4 pm featuring DuCard Vineyards' artisan wines produced by local vintner Scott Elliff and a sampling of Emilio Fontan's, owner of El Quijote, award winning Tapas. The exhibitiion closes April 13th.

In conjunction with the “Makin' It In Virginia” exhibit, three entrepreneur workshops are being offered by the Artisans Center of Virginia at River District Arts in March for artisans and artists who want to fine tune their business and marketing knowledge.

Tuesday, March 4: 5pm- 8pm “Business Planning for Busy Artists: Getting Started....Have You Thought It Through?” Instructor: Sherri Smith, Executive Director Artisans Center of Virginia

Tuesday, March 11: 5pm-8pm “Social Media: Why Facebook & Twitter are so important, and how to use them!” Instructor: Jay Punyanitya, Technical Adminstrator Artisans Center of Virginia

Tuesday, March 18, 5pm-8pm “Photographing Your Art” Instructor: Mark Miller, Mark Miller Photography

Tuition is $25 per seminar for members of the Artisans Center of Virginia or Rappahannock County Artisan Trail. Tuition is $30 per seminar for non members of either organization. (ACV Scholarships are available for eligible members).
