The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

An oportunity to take part at all the events around the Barcelona Jewellery Week.

We understand the exercise of art as a discipline of knowledge. Creating is none other than a way of approaching reality.
This workshop offers the attendees the chance to rethink the ingredients (the object), how to prepare them (method)
and how to codify them to be able to communicate them (language).

The Malt Cross Gallery is an independent led space, offering a unique take on the arts. Situated within a historic grade II listed building in Nottingham, we aim to offer support and encouragement to artists of all ages and backgrounds. Whether students or practising artists, we strive to show work of an excellent quality; thought provoking, innovative and of a contemporary nature.

We welcome applications from all creative disciplines and are keen to promote strength of work rather than reputation. Anyone interested in this opportunity should email gallery@maltcross.com for an application pack. http://www.maltcross.com/

We believe that the creative industries are such a success because of the many people who are committed to passing on their skills and knowledge.

In order to celebrate the launch of the 2016 Creative & Cultural Skills Awards, we want you to tell us who these people are.

Who is the manager that took the time to train you? The mentor that inspired you? The person that went the extra mile to give you the tools to succeed in your creative career?

Tell us on Twitter using #mymentor. We'll be retweeting many of your tweets from @CreativeChoices and @CCSkills.
