Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Introduction to Gems & Gemmology - one-day workshop

Are you interested in gems and jewellery? Would you love to know where gems are from and how to identify them? Then you should grab yourself a place at our next gems and gemmology workshop on Sunday 3rd June, being hosted by Julia Thompson Jewellery in Somerset. There are more details on our Facebook page.

This one-day workshop will give you a solid overview of many of the key topics relating to gems and gemmology, from the scientific aspects of the subject to the practical side of gem properties and identification. You will learn to use some of the main gemmologist’s tools and have a chance to examine (and buy!) a wide range of gemstones.

We look forward to seeing you there! https://www.facebook.com/events/156284865208445/

Oxidation is often interpreted as an aging of the product, the touch of time on the material. Style is another mark of time on a product. Through those two aspects, Oxydum plays on the notions of time and style, using timeless geometrics shapes and a controlled use of the oxidation process. https://materia.nl/material/oxydum/?utm_source=Materia&utm_camp...

‘Sensorium Tests’ and ‘At the Threshold’ by Daria Martin
8 March 2018—27 August 2018
‘At the Threshold’ and ‘Sensorium Tests’ explore the relationship between art, science and empathy through the experience of people with synaesthesia. This condition produces experiences in one sense that are usually felt in another or by another – for example, perceiving sounds as colours. A person with mirror-touch feels other people's sensations of touch, both painful and pleasurable.

The films, set in the style of 1950s melodramas, encourage you to inhabit the experiences of others and truly watch with all your senses.

Are you an outstanding cultural leader with artistic credibility, commercial acumen, and connectivity? Can you enhance and showcase the impact of Warwick Arts Centre, the UK’s largest and most successful University based multi-art form venue? We are looking for an exceptional individual who will inspire communities through art, culture and creative learning, and deepen the role of Warwick Arts Centre within the University of Warwick, the region and the nation.

Warwick Arts Centre delivers a high-quality, engaging, diverse artistic programme of performing and visual arts; and an extensive creative learning programme for schoolchildren, young people, families, students and learners of all ages. Collaborating with a range of partner organisations - including acclaimed orchestras, galleries and pioneering theatre companies - we have a long
tradition of commissioning new work. Relationships with artists, students, academics and the wider community are at the heart of what we do.

We are at a critical and exciting point in our development. Warwick Arts Centre is in the middle of a major £32m programme of capital renewal, with investment from the University, Arts Council England, charitable trusts and audience members. By autumn 2020, we will open three new cinemas, a more accessible visual arts gallery and enhanced visitor facilities. Warwick Arts Centre will be a flagship venue and partner in the University’s contribution to Coventry City of
Culture 2021.
