is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.
Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.
We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Nina Gilbey, of the London Jewellery Workshop and her colleague, Rebecca Ora Cheeseman, have been commissioned by The Crowood Press to write a book on Textures & Colour in Jewellery, due to be published in May 2017.
The authors are looking for images for the gallery pages in the book and are calling for submissions from makers of all levels.
Illustrative images of the following techniques are required: Hammering, finishing & polishing, gilding & plating, rolling, Kuem Boo, oxidising, stamping, casting (lost wax, sand & cuttlefish), engraving, patination, setting of gemstones, etching, enamelling (hot, cold & torch fired), reticulation, use of resin, use of wood, granulation, anodising aluminium, use of glass.
Max 10 images per person. Jpeg format. Minimum 300 dpi.
