Interdisciplinary. Community. Advocacy. Humor.
The first event is a public reception for the exhibition MANUFRACTURED.
Manufractured is the featured exhibition is conjunction with Craft Forward. The exhibition is curated by Mara Holt Skov and Steven Skov Holt authors of the book Manufractured: The Conspicuous Transformation of Everyday Objects and professors at CCA.
If you haven't seen this book, I highly recommend that you get it from your library or purchase for your personal library at home.
This book and the exhibition focus on the reuse of manufactured materials. The ramifications of this approach are enormous. Think recycled, mixed media, or remixed use of materials.
I am very proud to say that I have two major works in this third iteration of the exhibition.
My sculpture Grass/gras'/ is the center of the exhibition (photo above left).
In the same photo (far left on the mannequins) is work by Crafthaus member
Emiko Oye (right image).
If you live near the San Francisco Bay Area don't miss this public reception.
Wednesday night 5:30 to 8:30.
I will be there early starting at 4:30 photographing the work for tomorrow's blog post.
Come early for this festive event and meet the artists and curators.
