Thanks for the tip about tropical woods.  I plan on experimenting with some of those soon.  I'm playing around with some driftwood right now.

My wife uses shellac to seal her wood jewelry and prevent color bleeding.

Tropical woods bleed color, especially the reddish and black varieties.

Seems to work to seal the wood, but Salad Bowl Finish is something to look into, we might also.

Perfect, thanks!

Hi Michele, My suggestion is Salad Bowl Finish, which is a wipe on product.  You can order it online at Amazon.com or Woodcraft. It is totally non-toxic, has good water resistance, dries hard & is easy to use.

Hi everyone,

Brigitte thought you might be able to help me with one of my projects.  I'm working on some wood jewelry and want a sealant/finishing product that will dry to a matte finish.  Any suggestions???

Thanks,

Michelle
