The most fascinating concept I latched onto in an undergraduate, pre-med-oriented course in human anatomy and development was that entire complex bodies such as our own begin to take shape from the point of a double-walled tube. Even our individual bodily experiences, those sensations, perceptions and inevitable bodily functions, help us "remember" how we each came to be the way we are.
