Callie, I normally would leave the file textured on both sides and would never use a file with a really coarse texture but this one has a flat, polished back, which is how the file was made.

I really love this, I haven't seen it before, is the texture removed from the file where it touches the wrist?

Thanks, Marcus! I love these old files. I've made quite a number of these over the last few years but have never had them photographed before.
