Place 1 describes the specific locale of my studio, using both a topographic representation in the “embroidered“ upholstery, and an evocation of the rainforest that reportedly covered the place prior to European incursion in both form and material. The Blackbean was locally salvaged, and is one of the species that grew in the local rainforests. The blackbean was hand shaped, and the copper "leaves" patinated.
