PARTICIPATORY SPORT FOR CRAFT ARTISTS
In my work I seek to understand emotion. Working instinctually, I recreate the tangible and intangible details from my past; my grandmother’s rosary, a line in a song. As these fragments come together into one composition, I remember the story and emotion in a new way. Though often melancholic, I have fondness for these memories and emotions and with that a desire to keep them. In these compositions they no longer feel heavy, but appear beautiful and adorning.
Within the studio, I have spent the past year exploring my creative process and what drives me to create. Repetitive exercises that limit time, technique, and materials have generated recurrence of details and influence which, in turn, have brought clarity and direction to my work. I have found new inspiration in my roots and a unique approach to embracing color, found objects, and narrative.

For the next 13 months we'll discuss the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of exhibiting in art shows as emerging artists and established artists. Exhibition coverage will be balanced with tips on how to strategically build a legacy over a length of time, in a way that makes sense to your individual goals as an artist and maker.
Join us each month! There will be surprises around every corner, with photos, videos, SNAG conference coverage, and occasional interviews by rising artists!
