Artist Interviews-Where are you going? Where have you been? How did you get there?

About this blog--As a recent graduate and currently in a one-year residency the question of what’s next and how to get there is always on my mind. For this blog I will be interviewing artists who have taken varying paths and pursued different careers in or out of the arts to see what they are doing now and the steps they took to get there. Special Note--I want this to be a way to share how we are all trying to figure out the paths to what’s next and where to go, not answers or things to do, but…See More

We jury some of the online exhibitions at Crafthaus and are inviting you to submit to our calls-

Sitting Pretty Part 2 is how the show will look http://crafthaus.ning.com/group/sittingprettytheartsittingpretty
A show at Crafthaus has more of an audience then a gallery and offers a permanent stage to the world. We do love gallery shows, but at Crafthaus submission is easy, doesn't cost anything for members. In addition to our calls there are others you may be interested in.
We try to make the submission process as painless as possible! If you have any questions please let us know. Glen & Marie

Hi Catherine,
Yes, well I actually forgot about it for a bit (I am planning a wedding in 3 weeks) but I would really love to be involved in this project. I mainly work in metals, what would you be interested in working with? I know you do metals also. We are a little short on time, but I think we could pull something great together. I tend to work better under pressure anyhow. Let me know! Thanks.

Hi Catherine, Thanks for the message! Unfortunately though, I also am non-snag, so am looking a SNAG member to collaborate with too. Hope we both find someone! Cheers, Kate.

Hello Gorgeous! Made anything fabulous lately? (we can include cake & patisserie as I'm on a diet, so in search of a visual feast instead of a more calorific 3-dimensional one.)

Interviewing NCECA 2013 Emerging Artist Linda Swanson

NCECA 2013 Emerging Artist Linda Swanson makes us think about ceramic materials in a new and dynamic way.  Her installation, site specific, fired and unfired work all has an emphasis on time, material and transformation.  Linda generously shared her time and thoughts with me about her current studio practice and the path that has led her there.  I hope you enjoy this interview with Linda Swanson.  You can see more of her work at: …See More
