I am a .... Example: Student, Maker, Educator, etc.
Craftsman-Artist in metal; silversmith, goldsmith and redsmith.
I come from a family of independent craftsmen dating back at least five generations, most of whom worked in the B'ham Jewellery Quarter. At least one of their workshops is still standing and is pictured on my website.
I decided to go to Art College and study design, There I met my life companion whose family was similar to mine but are painters. We now live and work in the New Town area of Edinburgh.
My workshop is based in the Patriothall artist's complex where I am currently moving from a reasonably large but very full workshop to an even larger studios. Anyone who knows me will be gasping with disbelief at this point or laughing their heads off.
Any way, I will be charting the events of the move with pictures and comments on my website if anyone is interested.

I will only consent to a Royal Welcome of all involved promise to roll the Scottish rrrrs and basically just talk unintelligibly. We had a Scottish minister at my husband's Presbyterian church (back in the days when we still went) and I liked him for 3 reasons: 1. The sermons were all mercifully brief; 2. I never understood a word he was saying because of his accent and 3. He claimed that all bagpipes have a microchip implanted so that they all only play 3 pieces of music: Scotland the Brave, Amazing Grace and ACDC's Highway to Hell. Loved that guy.

Ok, so it is duly noted to only be over there for 5 minutes late Spring/ early Summer. Got it. I will be in touch when the time comes so that we can synchronize our watches and meet for tea. Quickly. Looking forward to it already !!

:-) Brigitte

I haven't heard anything from them yet. No I'm not in the show just yet. We get our own show, opens on the 11th september and is only on for a few days, we don't get that much of a showcase! Hope you can make it along. I will sen out invites(if we even get them)and you could maybe pass them around your workshop and anyone else who would be interested. There are three jewellers in the Masters class so hopefully we'll produce something nice.

Down to the Waterline – “Stain-Less” in Sheffield

They like their fountains in Sheffield.  The first thing that greets you on leaving the railway station is a wonderful cascade of water.  I walked across the city centre to my hotel and the peace gardens had fabulous fountains and children leaping around them, it seemed every courtyard was running water for the newly warming Springtime.…See More
