It was great to meet you in person too, Rameen.  It was my pleasure to jury you into the Cu/29 show.  Your work is wonderful.  It's nice to hear you got some compliments and a critique from Fred as a result of that.  Hopefully the dominoes of success keep falling from this!  Hopefully we will meet again somewhere too.

Hi Rameen,

I'm sure we'll meet soon. At the Cu|29 Exhibition and SNAG, if not sooner!

Greetings Rameem,

Thanks for "friending" me here and submitting your work for the CU/29 show.  That was my first time being the sole juror for a show and it was a challenging thing to do.  I had to decline so many good pieces and works by friends.  Your entry intrigued me with it's activation of space, interplay of materials, and craftsmanship.  I look forward to seeing the piece in person at the show.

Interviewing NCECA 2013 Emerging Artist Linda Swanson

NCECA 2013 Emerging Artist Linda Swanson makes us think about ceramic materials in a new and dynamic way.  Her installation, site specific, fired and unfired work all has an emphasis on time, material and transformation.  Linda generously shared her time and thoughts with me about her current studio practice and the path that has led her there.  I hope you enjoy this interview with Linda Swanson.  You can see more of her work at: …See More
