Nicknamed the “Big Easy,” New Orleans is known for its round-the-clock nightlife, vibrant live-music scene, and exceptional cuisine. A melting pot of French, African, and American cultures, it is one of the country’s most culturally and historically-rich cities. Its beauty, mystery and continuous regeneration is the perfect backdrop and inspiration for SNAG’s 46th…

What do you do when a friend approaches you with one of her bucket list items? You say YES! It's what I did and for the past year, my friend, metalsmith professor Sue Amendolara (…

First of all, I have to make it clear that the Justified Sinner is still alive and kicking. My website has gone offline whilst I change hosting companies due to a ludicrous hike in pricing at Small Business Host who previously…

The new edition of Metalsmith, the annual "Exhibition in Print" is fantastic. Susan Cohn curates "As Seen By Others: Photography As Strategy", an exhibition which I didn't enter as I didn't really think that it would be very interesting, nor did I think that it applied to my work. Now I am kicking myself for being so short-sighted, especially after the day I have just spent in…

As I normally say 'no' to Doris Day stereotypes, I apologise for the obvious title to this post!
It is, however, true. I have just arrived home from the thrilling three-day excursion to Chicago for SOFA 2012. It was brilliant, and not at all windy. I am still trying to process it all and the to get round to emailing all the people I need to talk to.…

It is only three days until I fly to Chicago to help out at the SNAG Stand at SOFA. Obviously, I am hoping that lots of Crafthaus people who are there will stop by to say "hello" and introduce themselves to me, SNAG member or otherwise.
I've been at a bit of a loose end for the past few weeks. After finishing some items to wear at SOFA, I was waiting on getting the go-ahead for a collaborative project with my friend and colleague, photographer…

I have been feeling very nostalgic for San Francisco since my visit there last November. Strangely this is always triggered when I see a house in New Jersey with a stucco exterior. I realized the places I lived the longest or during important turning points in my life were all stuccoed. I never realized that this visual memory was so strong. I felt something like this when I moved back to S.F. after living in Wisconsin for three years, I thought I longed to see the ocean again, but what hit…
