PARTICIPATORY SPORT FOR CRAFT ARTISTS
Got quite a lot of work done on "A Forest" today:
This has easily been one of the most challenging silver-iron soldering exercises!
I wanted a large bullet cabochon for the bottom of the piece, to make into an "acorn" but my stone-dealer had nothing in stock and while I could have asked her to get one cut for me, I don't really have the time, so I decided to make my own by milling one in hardwood...
The sharp-eyed among you will have noticed that it is being milled from Walnut, a kind of transgenic acorn!
Here's the cap, waiting to be cast:
Not much more to say as 1) My main computer won't boot up and 2) I'm very tired!

- by Rebecca Rose. 2013, SNAG/crafthaus Scholarship Recipient
For the next 13 months we'll discuss the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of exhibiting in art shows as emerging artists and established artists. Exhibition coverage will be balanced with tips on how to strategically build a legacy over a length of time, in a way that makes sense to your individual goals as an artist and maker.
Join us each month! There will be surprises around every corner, with photos, videos, SNAG conference coverage, and occasional interviews by rising artists!
