Interesting. Studio Furniture collector? I had no idea about that connection. I will take a look at that book now for sure.

Hm, sounds like Jim Henson would be a great keynote speaker for a future Furniture Society conference, I am not kidding. 1/2 of Click and Clack were there this year (the one that is a furniture hobbyist) and I am sure it was a riot. Way to start a conference. Just imagine what Jim Henson would do... I would attend THAT conference just to witness it.

Thanks too for the info on R.E.M.! I love that music. BTW, just subscribed to their facebook page a few days ago and looked through some footage they have posted that looks pretty authentic and recent. A lot of artist fb pages get done by their agents/handlers obviously, I think theirs is pretty much as "authentic" as it gets.

This is a great video! "Shiny Happy People" is on R.E.M's 1991 release "Out of Time".

Jim Henson was a collector of studio furniture. There is a chapter devoted to Mr. Henson's Manahattan residence in Art for Everyday by Patricia Conway (published in 1990).
