Over the course of the next nine months I will be living and working in Amsterdam.

I am conducting research as a Kate Neal Kinley Fellow - looking into the connections between culture and innovative thought. OF COURSE my focus is on art jewelers here in the Netherlands.

My research is anchored on this artist/designer, Gijs Bakker. I am currently working as a research intern in his studio - assisting with design projects and gaining first hand knowledge of his process.

Of course, Gijs also founded Chi ha paura...?so I will be working closely with Nora Morton, Sales and Press Manager at CHP to learn about putting the work out into the world. With a new collection in the works for Milan this coming April, I will have the opportunity to document the entire CHP process - from theme, to artist ideation, production, and finally ITALY!

I am also collecting extensive data via studio visits and interviews with other jewelers, designers, gallerists and collectors. More about that in the near future!

For the last six weeks have been writing gallery reviews for Art Jewelry Forum. My latest was a review of Ruudt Peters amazing new body of work Corpus, currently being shown at Galerie Rob Koudijs.

Check out my review here: AJF blog - Ruudt Peters
