Sturlin’s keynote presentation will open the event and set the mood for a stimulating exchange of ideas and insight into the nature of the creative process and the fulfillment of making and sharing wearable art.

In addition to his work in the studio, Sturlin is a respected educator. As a faculty member of the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts and frequent visiting guest artist and workshop presenter, Sturlin is devoted to sharing his insight and expertise with students at all levels.

Prior to the keynote presentation, Sturlin will present a two day pre-conference workshop July 12-13.  “Developing an Artistic Identity” offers Sturlin’s professional insight followed by an intimate group exploration of the process for making original work with a recognizable style. This program is designed for the emerging artist and the seasoned veteran alike, and is limited to 20 participants.

Over the course of his 40 year career Sturlin’s jewelry has received international acclaim and recognition from the World Gold Council, the American Jewelry Design Council, and Jewelers of America. His work is included in the 2009 book MASTERS: GOLD, featuring 43 influential goldsmiths of the current age.
