Interdisciplinary. Community. Advocacy. Humor.
The purpose of SNAG Connects is to bring together members and potential members within their own geographical region. Each region has a volunteer leader in charge of forging these relationships.
Bio: Pasha Moezzi is an emerging Jewellery artist residing in Toronto. He obtained his Fine Arts diploma from Langara College and later attended the BFA Program at Concordia University in Montreal majoring in Design Arts and graduated in 2006. His true passion for jewellery emerged while working at his father’s furniture making workshop, where he made jewellery out of scrap pieces using very unorthodox techniques and machinery such as the table saw and band saw. Later on he decided to get the proper goldsmithing training and attended George Brown College where he graduated from Jewellery arts program in 2015.
Pasha’s work has a unique style influenced by industrial shapes and architectural forms, which is very evident in both his one of a kind work and his production lines. He has won several awards and competitions and has had solo and group exhibitions in Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto and Tehran and has been an artist in residence at the prestigious Harbourfront Centre in Toronto since 2015.
About this Region: Canada's jewellery scene has been growing rapidly for the past two decades and has became more and more involved in the international scene as well. While our community is growing we are hoping to bring more attention to the work that is being created by Canadian artists and to hopefully host more international events and festivals to make Canada one of the leading places in the creative fields. For the next two years we are focusing on bringing an even bigger and more powerful jewellery community together from all backgrounds and practices.
