One of the things I love most about the SNAG community is the diversity of passions, interests and goals of our members. I'm always inspired by the dedication, commitment and persistence of SNAG members in reaching for these goals. If only all of our bank accounts could keep up with our dreams. Here are three awesome SNAG ladies, each with very different aspirations, but all in need of financial assistance.

Satomi Kawai is asking for support in attending Munich Jewelry Week where she was invited to participate in an exhibition showcasing works inspired by a residency in Athens Greece this past January. Satomi has this to say about her work: "My visual art practice includes jewelry, printing, and drawing. My art speaks of nature and my personal femininity. I have felt a strong tie to my natural surroundings since I was a child, living in a nature-rich suburb of a local city in Wakayama prefecture. I am also surrounded by nature in Iowa City and my inspirations are abundant in every moment here. After moving to the United States, I also had to reevaluate my personal femininity with respect to living in a western culture, observe myself as a transplanted person and adjusted during the last nineteen years."  To learn more about Satomi's project you can check out her GoFundMe here.

Traveling in the opposite direct is Danielle James. DJ is a fabulous metalsmith with a recently discovered passion for neon. She has been invited to exhibit her work in an upcoming neon exhibition in San Francisco. "She Bends 2: Women in Neon, which will be opening at The Midway (www.themidwaysf.com) in San Francisco on March 24th. The logistics of delivering large and fragile neon works is a bit more complicated than shipping jewelry. DJ is planning on driving her work cross country from Raleigh, NC to San Francisco, CA. She's set up an IndieGoGo page to help fund her travel expenses. You can learn more here.

Perhaps traveling furthest is jeweler, biker and solo traveler Casey Sheppard. For anyone that knows Casey, it's very obvious that her travel and biking are an integral component to her art making. Also, you know the amazing pieces she's able to make with just a few hand tools in her van. Her next big adventure is the Tour Aotearoa,  a 3000km 30-day solo self-supported bike tour of both islands of New Zealand. She will start at Cape Reinga and ride an average of 86 miles a day. A big part of Casey's mission is to show girls all over the world that they can achieve whatever they put their mind to, and the importance of following one's heart. Casey is also available to speak to your group or organization. Her KickStarter, full of informative videos is here. There's only one week left to donate!

So check out some awesome artists with some worthy projects and let's support each other in achieving our dreams! Thanks for reading!
