This I made for an exhibition in the Goethe Museum in Duesseldorf this year. 24 jewellery makers from duesseldorf exhibited their pieces especially made for this exhibition regarding the theme: "Reise ins Licht" (voyage into colour) - inspired by the 200th anniversary of Goethe's Theory of Colours.
This kinetic ring piece, made from stainless steel, acylic and colour filter foils is my interpretation of goethes colour wheel - which illustrates his theory.
In my version there are three layers with the basic colours cyan, magenta and yellow, showing the 6 colours of goethes wheel when the ring is not in motion - but when its worn, the wheels starting to move - changing colours all the time... a bit hard to explain - but a small movie will follow in my video-section...

Such a great piece. Your elegant mechanisms are most inspiring.

Thank you Michael. A perfectly clear explanation, and a extraordinarily clever execution.

How does this one move, and what are the materials this is made of?
