Artist statement:
I have always had an interest for the natural organic world around me, often picking up seed pods on adventures and delighting in new found plants and flowers when I was a child. Through fine arts and jewellery I have taken this love and created a range of jewellery that explores space, fluidity and balance through organically shaped sculptural forms which seem to float on the body. This is done in a range of metals such as silver and gold, with patina effects to “sketch” my ideas into metal. It is my intention to stimulate the viewer and delight the wearer appreciating these pieces both on and off the body but still maintaining their interest over time, creating an appreciation for organic form and the myriad of secrets that lie within.

Artist Interviews-Where are you going? Where have you been? How did you get there?

About this blog--As a recent graduate and currently in a one-year residency the question of what’s next and how to get there is always on my mind. For this blog I will be interviewing artists who have taken varying paths and pursued different careers in or out of the arts to see what they are doing now and the steps they took to get there. Special Note--I want this to be a way to share how we are all trying to figure out the paths to what’s next and where to go, not answers or things to do, but…See More

Behind the Brooch

This exhibition focuses on a side of the brooch we usually do not pay much attention to: the back side. Our first look is naturally always trained at the front, but when we do take the time to look at the back of a brooch, it will oftentimes reveal a surprising aspect for us, a delightful little secret. With this exhibition, I would like to let you in on that secret, something that typically only the maker and the wearer know about. I hope you will enjoy with me this selection of brooches by…See More

First Hand

“First Hand,” will function as an ongoing collection of tips, musings, and information gained primarily from ‘first hand’ experience.  It will cover topics like: How I built a website from scratch, pricing and packaging, why Lady Gaga would wear your work, and a plethora of other exciting stuff  in between.   In addition to my own contributions, I will solicit the knowledge of others in the field in an effort to shed light on topics I have identified as vague but valuable in my own experience…See More

That is easy...Inder your picture on your Crafthaus page there should be a line that says." Blog Post"...or "Add a Post" or something like that...Just click on it and it will take you to your own blog page. I don't really remember setting it up...so it must have been easy! Good luck. If you have problems...let me know... I'll try to help.:-)

Life has many layers - like lasagna.

I've been absent from these pages for the summer while I started a new book and concentrated on getting some flute projects out the door. This month I've actually (gulp) taken a spare bag or two of time to myself and done sweet fork all. What a treat that was. It's been at least a century since I could live a couple of weeks without feeling compelled to do anything.Well, not nothing... (How can any self respecting obsessive compulsive polymath really do nothing ?) That would be unconscionable.…See More
