Thank you so much. I think loads of your pieces are really fantastic!

I think it would look fine. The resulting karat will be questionable, but if she does not care, it doesn't matter. The color may be a bit "off" if they are really different karats of alloys, but will still be and look like gold, just your own little alloy. (just be really sure they are solid gold and not just plated before you start!)

The one about inspiration from plants?? Yes, I did. Now I'm trying to get some images of older work together for the felt book deadline that's coming up!
Good luck with getting your studio together -- and don't forget to keep the metals stuff separate from the dining stuff!

Hi, Kelsey!
Thank you for your kind compliment! I enjoyed perusing your work, too -- those syringe pieces are both stunning and fascinating!! So you are at the Academy of Art in San Fran? How do you like it? Where are you in your program?

yeah! good going on the show... your almost done! I'm glad it generated some sales so you can keep making! I'll see what I can send your way when I'm cleaning out my studio for your new studio!

things are good out here, but chilly, and slow paced, which makes it hard to get things done in the studio! Still getting all set up out here.... How are you, and school/show?

Interviewing NCECA 2013 Emerging Artist Linda Swanson

NCECA 2013 Emerging Artist Linda Swanson makes us think about ceramic materials in a new and dynamic way.  Her installation, site specific, fired and unfired work all has an emphasis on time, material and transformation.  Linda generously shared her time and thoughts with me about her current studio practice and the path that has led her there.  I hope you enjoy this interview with Linda Swanson.  You can see more of her work at: …See More
