Hi Nisa! Thanks for your comment on "Deliberate". As it happens, I am a big fan of your work! I usually pronounce "Deliberate" as in "the jury deliberated", but it's really up to the viewer.
Cheers,
Miel

Hi Nisa,
Thank you so much!!! Thanks for also noticing the display--I went around and around with what I was going to do real kitchen tables, fabricated kitchen tables, etc. Happy that I decided to go with the simple counter top approach. By the way---your work is stunning! I enjoy the combination of scientific and the beauty of nature>
Keep in touch.
Warmly, Renee

I've seen your work before (metalsmith magazine?) and loved them! I didnt know you really were a biologist but it makes a lot of sense... I guess you got both side of biology down- scientific side and artistic side. Beautiful work! I love the clean finish and the wonderful display too.

hi, nisa,

how are you?

we all just got back from SOFA chicago.

It was smaller compared to last year but still it was nice to be in Chicago for 3 days.

We all got to see sun and masako. That was also nice as well.

It would've been nice to if you were there too.

well, just saying hello!

hope you are well~

best,

soyeon

Or maybe you meant the 'idea' of a real organism encased in silver and plastic? Kinda like our relationship with technology these days.....

Yes! Exactly!
Well, no. To be honest, I thought the flowers were really real. Which of course, makes them even more amazing.

Now that you mentioned it, I do see a relationship in many of your pieces between reality, beauty, and a sterile environment (technology). :)

I see you take your work home with you :)

Beautiful work! And I love the real mixed with silver and acrylic. And the tags are great as well! Well thought out concept and execution.
