Studio Sanctuaries - Part 2

Few things are more important to an artist than their workspaces. Part sanctuary, part workshop, part hang-out: This exhibit honors our studio spaces where we spend most of our time.

I finally looked at these wonderful images. Humble or grand it is inspiring to see other artist spaces.

Hi Pat,

I can reshoot my studio photos if you like. The day I took pics my camera was somewhere else, so I used my phone. Just let me know. It really is fun to see these spaces.

Anthony,
Excellent ideas !!! But let's not put all of the burden on Pat- unless, of course, she won't mind-, how about some of you guys do this cooperatively with her, or you form completely new teams? If anyone here is up for getting a show about booths or sale spaces together, let me know. Both ideas sound really good !!

Pat, you’ve done such a great job with the presentation of the work spaces. Now that we’ve seen where the art is made it might be interesting to see where it’s sold. A companion exhibit of members’ show booths would be interesting as well as instructive.

https://www.createspace.com/?ref=478921&utm_id=5685 here is their web address. Blurb is hella expensive. I won't know for some time how the it turns out because just getting ready is taking me so long. I am hopeful about speeding up the process now that I have Openoffice.org which allows me to make PDFs and combine text and images oh so very easily!

Thanks for the tip, Jenny! If you have some time (ha ha ha) could you maybe post about this particular publishing experience for us? In a separate blog with images etc, that would work best. I'd like to know how smooth everything went from start to finish, and what the pitfalls are so that people can compare your experience with blurb and all the other self-publishing situations. Thanks in advance!

There is a way to do a book by sending PDFs to Amazon and they create the book for you. It is very inexpensive, it's what I am working on for my tin book.

Call for artists....

"Behind the Brooch"

I have always thought that the back of a jewelry piece is as important as the front. If you feel the same way, consider sending images of the front and backside of your brooches to Lorena Angulo asap. Lorena is looking for images to place in a future crafthaus online exhibition!
