From Latin, Tinctura means dyeing. Eva adds to her name “tinctory,” a word that she feels may not exist but if it did, would mean a place where things are dyed. The colors of Eva’s pieces are earthy and seductive. Meticulous hand stitching adds a bit of nostalgia to her tucked and pleated forms and the addition of dark metal completes the feeling of elegant ephemera.
This is fabric manipulation taken a bit further than the usual. With just the right push and discipline, what could very easily result as commonplace is transformed into something rather special. Enjoy Eva (tinctory’s) ruffles and flourishes this Monday.
