Hi Kelly!

I can't figure out how to send you a message because I am new to crafthaus! I am a first year grad at RISD and we are curating a pretend exhibition of 14 other artists that we'd like to be in our company. My exhibition is titled "Portrait, Portrait" and I've chosen your cocktail, shrimp? piece to be in my exhibition! I can't find any information on it and was wondering if you could send me the date it was made, materials, and dimensions so it can accompany your image! I can send your more information on why I chose it and what my exhibition is about if I can figure out how to message you. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks so much

Hi Kelly. I start my cameos, by cutting the shaped out of the shell with a diamond wheel on a flexible shaft machine, the I use a mizzy wheel to grind off the brown color on the outside of the shell and to even out the white layer below, I then begin by hand carving the shell with engraving tools. The pink layer of the shell is very thin, about the thickness of a thumb nail and you have to be very careful not to break through. Good Luck! Randy
