Congrats Ronna!!

Kudos to my friend Ronna Sarvas Weltman, whose book: "Ancient Modern - Polymer Clay + Wire Jewelry" has barely hit the shelves - and is already in it's second printing!! I've previewed it, and will tell you that is is more than eye-candy -- it's a treasure of great information and inspiration. Way to go, Ronna!!

SNAG 2009

Revolution was my first SNAG conference and what a great experience! A little overwhelming, so much information to take in. For anyone debating on whether or not they should attend a SNAG conference I would have to say that it is totally worth it. Attending the presentations is a must and the professional development seminar was full of great information. I wasn't sure what to expect but have come away inspired and motivated not only to create but to become more active in my… Continue

To SNAG or not to SNAG, that is the question...

...well, not really, but it makes for a catchy (or should I say kitschy) blog title!

SNAG = Society of North American Goldsmiths. "An international educational nonprofit organization which supports and advances the professional practice of artists, designers, jewelers and metalsmiths." (or so they state on their website...)

This year's… Continue

Through to the final

As I mentioned in my blogger blog http://insidetheartisan.blogspot.com last month, I recently entered a couple of competitions and have just heard that my "remember the little things" bracelet has just got into the final of the Bead and Button competition. The first stage is showing photos of the piece, and the second phase is that I just sent the piece off to them!

I'm excited just to have got this far. Feels great! Maybe I should… Continue

Tip & Review: Suspension Shadow Boxes for Jewelry Display

I was recently invited to participate in an art exhibition that was, ironically and unfortunately, not prepared to display jewelry. Normally I would shy (or run) away from organizations not able to properly display/secure jewelry. However, this exhibition pulled on my heart strings. It is the first exhibition for the past scholarship recipients of the Allied Artists of Johnstown---a scholarship I… Continue

After the show... still happy happy days.

It is really interesting how/where things are connecting. My two great friends who do not know each other told me about "Etsy" in the same day. SAME DAY. So I thought this was a sign... to get started.

I have been told about Etsy before, but I was not ready yet... Now... am I ready yet ? "I do not know ! How do I know !?"

This is like a marriage, I believe. Nobody knows when to be ready to get marry. When I get marry, that is… Continue

SNAG Philadelphia Prologue event...

Even though this year's conference is weeks away the energy is building. Our prologue event is this evening at the Wexler Gallery in the Old City section of Philadelphia.
First Friday's openings:
A retrospective of work by Myra Mimlitsch-Gray, anti/icono/clastic
Also a group show of fantastic new materials from their collective new medium.

Should be very interesting. I've purchased a new hat for the occasion. Hope to see you there.

Best,
Anthony
