Oh yes, I like those very much. Graffiti style is a cool world-which I find a bit difficult to mimic in paint. I am always thinking hard trying to figure it all out. Keep up the good work.
Michael,
Thanks for looking at my stuff. You steel cut pieces inspire me, I've been trying to solve some problems with a small group of brooches that I want to enamel, that have contour lines around and within the images. They are very cartoon like and I want to keep that quality. I made some kinda extreme 3-d dies for the hydraulic press, pressed the copper, enameled image...then enamel fills in too much detail. But I may try cutting out a contour of the main outer shapes...go from there. Nice meeting you.

So I know that you are all the way out in Cali, but we are trying to have a symposium for grads around the country at ECU in January. If you drop me your email address I can forward you some more information. It is called Material Topics: Jewelry and Metalsmithing in the 21st Century. Thought you might be interested and have some good input on conversations, etc.
sweet. I will get in touch about possibly getting you out here soon. As far as the show goes, I think Kristin was supposed to pass info along to you. I guess that didnt happen, so I just let Becky know and she is going to email you all the info. I hope you guys decide to do it, its awesome!
Hey thanks! Ive been meaning to email you actually...I wanted to see if you may possibly be interested in coming to ASU as a visiting artist. Of course I will have to make a pitch to the metals club, and then get funding and all that. Ill email you one of these days...
Oh yeah and are you guys (LBCC) going to do our intercollegiate Metals exhibition? Its pretty sweeeeeet!
Thanks. The show went well. It was a decent turn out, though there was wedding rehearsal at the same time as the opening which added a strange chemistry. How was your show at the Metals Museum?
I wish I could go.....those party's are always fun. I would like to talk to Tom and see the new work, it's hard to find him out of the house.
If you are on a extended trip, I just opened a gallery myself in Healdsburg ca. www.gallerylulo.com (working on the site).
Thanks for your kind words about the baseball cuff pieces. I am pretty fond of them as well. My husband and I are both pretty big baseball fans too, so hearing your wife, the fan, liked them really hit home. What's her team? Padres? We are lucky enough to call ourselves Phillies fans.
I 've liked your work for a while and it just keeps getting better. The conference was great. Will have to make a point to find each other next time.
Hi Michael,
Thank you so much! Your work is absolutely amazing--I enjoy the sense of forced space that you create in each piece. Where did you get your Masters? I see that you are teaching in Long Beach--do you have a large metals program? I am sorry that we did not get to talk at SNAG--maybe next year!
Warmly, Renee
Hey.
Yeah, Jess and Jill are awesome. They were grad students at ASU when I was an undergrad. I really look up to them:)
The decorative resurgence catalog is awesome...I am SO bummed I didnt get to see the show. Next year I am planning a longer trip for snag! And it will be closer to home so that is good.
Id love to hear your thoughts on the educational dialog...I had to leave about halfway through to catch a flight. I saw the work at Wexler but didnt go to Tyler...I wanted to see some of the other galleries and had to prioritize.
Anyway, look forward to hearing from you.

Where do you sell your work?
Do you have a pricing formula for pricing your work?
Just asking because Don Friedlich, Andy Cooperman are putting together a Pricing discussion for March 2010 in Houston at the SNAG Conference.
