DeFine Metal and Fiber

DeFine Metal and Fiber features works that combine metal with fiber or that are made of metal using fiber techniques. These works defy our expectations, showing us how artists are reaching across media boundaries to express themselves.

Dear Laura:

Welcome to crafthaus, the network for artists, craftsmen/women ! I am very glad you joined us ! It's great to see another Pittsburgher here on the site :-)

Please add your thoughts to the blogs and discussion forums that are already posted. Of course, if there is something else you'd much rather talk about, please add that to the site so that the rest of us can chime in.

I really hope you will enjoy being with this network and find the exchanges interesting and fun. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it, for sure.

Please note that crafthaus is a fully member-financed website, meaning that a small annual fee is involved in being a member . You will find all the necessary information on how to go about this in the FAQs section of the site. Your membership fee ($20 for a year or $35 for 2 yrs) is due June 15 and payable through paypal (preferred, a direct link is provided on the crafthaus main page) check or credit card (email me -crafthauseditor@live.com-for details.)

Finally, if there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me anytime. I will do my best to be of help.

Again: Welcome and enjoy !

Interviewing NCECA 2013 Emerging Artist Linda Swanson

NCECA 2013 Emerging Artist Linda Swanson makes us think about ceramic materials in a new and dynamic way.  Her installation, site specific, fired and unfired work all has an emphasis on time, material and transformation.  Linda generously shared her time and thoughts with me about her current studio practice and the path that has led her there.  I hope you enjoy this interview with Linda Swanson.  You can see more of her work at: …See More
