yellow book black book

Yet another phone book landed on my doorstep.

HOW MANY of them do we need??? I'm starting to think that there is a phone book/recycled paper industry connection..I keep recycling them,

they get printed on their own recycled paper. Kind of like the snake

eating it's tail. I guess the good behind this logic is that eventually

we'll be getting phone books so saturated by ink that they are

completely black...now where did I put my… Continue

2Roses blows

We recently had an opportunity to do some glass blowing with master glass artist Stephen Woodruff. We love adding skills to our repertoire. Corliss is making a drinking glass here. That glass on the end of the

tube is cherry red molten hot. And yes, a glass studio is only slightly

less hotter than hell, particularly in Southern California in July. But glass blowing is more fun than a barrel of

monkeys...in…

Publication opportunity for blacksmiths.

Schiffer Publishing is looking for submissions for Ironwork Today 3, a coffee table book that focuses on contemporary artist-blacksmithing. The former editor, Dona Meilach, was well-respected in the blacksmithing community for bringing attention to the new work being done in the field. The new editors are trying to live up to her memory.

It is free to submit images and you must include a brief bio/statement with the work. The deadline is Aug 1, 2010. Contact Karen…

My morning coffee with the I.R.S. MAN - Tips to prevent or smooth your audit with the I.R.S.

Coming up is my "anniversary" of my I.R.S. audit. Three summers ago, I was "invited" for a morning visit with the I.R.S. What a petrifying experience! Coffee was politely offered but my adrenaline was pumping already. Everything turned out fine...but perhaps you may gain some insight from how I survived economically unscathed and on

excellent terms with the I.R.S.…

I've sidelined a number of works-in-progress in order to get on with more pressing issues, so there are no updates on my Chanel-inspired piece or my tribute to Alexander McQueen, though I have progressed apace with my first foray into electronics in jewellery, "14th Century Nightlife" which I hope to finish finally this coming week after it sitting on my bench for…See More
