Greetings from NCECA - Day 1

Arrived just in time to dump my bags & head over to the conference headquarters for a quick check-in, where I received my official NCECA badge & bag of conference materials. We grabbed our shuttle bus & we were off on the Route 2 tour - Center City, University City & South Philly. There are an amazing amount of ceramic shows here for NCECA. There were 4 different routes to choose from. Highlights from this route (for us) were: Sub Octo Gallery (largest East Coast showing of… Continue

Packed...

I am almost packed. My flight leaves ORD at 8:45am; I arrive in Philadelphia at 11:45am. I plan to dash to my hotel, dump my luggage, then go immediately to the conference headquarters so I can try to jump on a "continuous shuttle bus tour #2" to catch as many galleries & exhibits as I can. I want to see the student show & Magic Gardens (that was an amazing doc - mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar) There is a show co-hosted by the Tile Heritage Foundation (they are fantastically good people)… Continue

AJF Article

For those who haven't seen it, I've got a new article up on Art Jewelry Forum addressing the SNAG Conference and some current conundrums in the field.

"While attending this year’s SNAG Conference in Houston, a chronic nagging question was amplified. What, exactly, is it that I do? In

passing conversations I never seem to be able to explain it to any

acceptable degree without endless digressive… Continue

Greetings Fellow Crafthaus Members!

I've spent the last few days deliberating on what I'd like my final post to address. There are many other bloggers out their who covered exhibitions, lectures, and events very well. From the onset I knew that Anthony Tammaro in particular would be addressing events in a more overarching way, and he's now posted many video interviews and…

Greetings Fellow Crafthaus Members!

I'm exhausted, I feel like my body has spent the last week in the dryer with a load of gym shoes, and my to-do list seems to grow exponentially longer every day since I've returned. A new opportunity to show in Berlin next month means that I won't have much of a rest this week.…

SNAG Houston 2010

Hello everyone.
I'll be posting more pictures and video clips from the conference in the next few days. Feel free to check my blog often over the next week. I have a ton of video that I'm trawling over. So look out for the gallery crawls, Exhibition in motion, and interviews to name a few.

Best,

So most of you may have heard about my action-packed adventure involving the mysterious disappearance of my Express-Mail-Guaranteed-Overnight-Arriving-at-Noon-the-Next-Day -Package. You know, the package that had all of my giant and hard to take on a plane work? And my Swap Pins? And a lot of other wonderful things like a toothbrush. Yes, I realize that it was a crazy plan.
